The Chameleon
Played The Chameleon at a friend's birthday party, I had played it before but this was new for everyone else. The selling pitch was "Just One but Among Us" and that got people on board.
Like Just One, there's a shared clue card, however in The Chameleon there's one person who doesn't know what the target clue is. Everyone else uses their card and consults a table based on the green and blue dice which indicates the clue on the theme card. Starting with the dealer, each person gives a one word clue that should be releated to the target clue. This means that whoever is The Chamelon is only working off of previous words given by other players.
After everyone has given their word association, then there's a short round of deliberation amongst everyone to try and identify who the Chamelon is. Players then vote by pointing to who they think it is and whoever has the most must reveal their card. If it is the Chamelon, they get one final chance to win and that's by guessing what the target clue was. If they succeed or if someone not the Chamelon is voted then that's a win for the Chamelon, otherwise everyone else wins.
It's a fun party exercise, but it's not my favorite compared to say Just One, and not simply due to the cooperative vs competitive nature. The biggest issue is turn order for whoever is The Chameleon. If they have to pick a word early, then they're operating on very little information and it's easy for them to get suspicious. For the players in the know, it's very easy to get stuck trying to figure out a clue that is general enough that can work for multiple clues but doesn't make you appear too suspicious to be a target vote. The nice thing is that rounds are typically quick, so you can easily lose track of time just going round after round.
