Samurai Spirit

Admittedly I was interested in Samurai Spirit specifically for the big tiger guy, I’m a simple man like that. There was a Shut Up & Sit Down video that featured this small box game (instead, found their review video) and I remember it getting used at a nice deal from BoardGameCo way back when.

What’s nice is that it’s a cooperative game that also features push your luck, which is a nice fusion. Each player is trying to take on and deal with raiders without going over their value. However, the strategic part is trying to hit the exact value of your max in order to activate your character’s special ability.

For raiders that you aren’t able to take on, or have been converted to invaders, they basically do direct damage to the village. We technically didn't fully play it correctly, forgetting about the penalities at the start of our turn. Still, it's a nifty little game. Think this is one we trial again, playing correctly, and see how we feel.
